OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Eighty-six percent of Medicare's expenditures go to treating chronic diseases. People with chronic conditions
may have different needs, but they also share common challenges with other older adults, such as paying for
care or navigating the complexities of the health care system.
The Beta Foundation's charter is to educate Medicare beneficiaries and their families and/or care givers,
to help them understand the risk factors for chronic diseases and how to reduce them. Promote quality of
life and independence for people as they age. Educate about Medicare and the options that are available
for those with chronic illnesses.

NatividadNatividad's family came to one of our classes at a local senior center several years after she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. They learned about the risk factors for themselves and preventive measures they could take. We were also able to assist her family in understanding Medicare to help them make the best choices for her.
